Sonia Ashe Japan Mission trip 2026

Japanese people are the #2 unreached people groups in the world. Novi, Michigan has a large population Japanese people. They come for 2-3 years to work in the automotive industry. Oak Pointe Church has a large English as a Second Language program that provides conversation and or optional Bible Study classes. Many of our Japanese students enroll in both. Over the years some have come to faith in Christ. And some go back still having an interest in learning more about the Bible. You can imagine how difficult it is for them, having rejected the family’s religious practice of Shinto or Buddhism. They are few churches and few Christians, it’s difficult for these young believers to thrive.

The purpose of our trip is twofold. We are hosting some Easter Events with the CBI students and we will be having gatherings with students who formerly participated in our ESL program to encourage them. Several of them have been my students in the past.
