Dear Friends and Family,
I’m grateful for the chance to share something God has placed on my heart this spring. From May 11–19, I will be serving on a Christian medical and dental mission trip to the Dominican Republic, sponsored by Oakpointe Church in partnership with Bold Hope. Our team will be working among Haitian immigrants living in the bateyes—isolated communities marked by deep poverty, limited access to healthcare, and few opportunities to hear the hope of the Gospel.
In the bateyes, untreated medical and dental issues are a daily reality. Simple conditions often become chronic sources of pain, and access to care is rare. Our team will come alongside local ministries to provide much-needed medical and dental services, but just as importantly, we will take time to listen, pray, and share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. We believe true healing speaks to both body and soul.
This trip is not about what we can accomplish on our own, but about what God can do when His people step out in faith. We trust Him to open doors, soften hearts, and remind each person we encounter that they are seen, known, and deeply loved by Him.
I am inviting you to prayerfully consider partnering with me in this mission. Financial support will help cover travel costs, lodging, medical and dental supplies, and ongoing ministry efforts in the bateyes. Every gift plays a role in bringing compassionate care and the hope of Christ to people who are often overlooked.
Even more than financial support, I would value your prayers—for our team’s health and unity, for meaningful conversations, and that God’s love would be clearly reflected in all we do. Thank you for walking alongside me in this journey. I am truly grateful for your encouragement, prayers, and generosity.
With sincere thanks and anticipation for what God will do,
Bruce Hagelthorn
